Meet the people who make living at Laurier Manor special:
Care Team Lead: Heather Scott-Wendlend, RCA
Heather joined us in 2008 and has become a valuable member of our team. She’s been a Care Aide for 27 years and achieved her certification in 2003. She also holds an Activity Co-ordinator Certificate and 3 Supervisor Certificates. Heather brings a strong commitment to caring to her position, having never been late for work or taken a sick day since starting here.
House Supervisor: Ewa Matyka
Ewa has been a familiar and welcoming face at the home for several years. Residents enjoy her compassion and desire to make all residents feel at home. Ewa always ensures residents are taken care of and caters to each persons individuality needs. She has been known to serve residents “breakfast in bed” for special occasions.
Regional Care Manager: Tammya Schwarz
Tammya Schwarz is a registered nurse in the U.S who began her health care career more than 25 years ago. She began as a nursing assistant. Her experience spans from hospital staff R.N. to Director of Nursing in large long term care facilities. She has established, owned and operated two assisted living facilities of her own where she specialized in Alzheimers/ dementia care. She also worked for a time in home health care where she was a wound care specialist and was instrumental in developing wound care protocols and treatments which vastly improved the healing time.Her compassion and caring nature make her an asset to both staff and residents alike.
Human Resources Manager: Nick Melemenis, B.B.A
Nick’s commitment to caring is emphasized among the employees of Pacific Care Communities. Attending to the employee’s needs and supporting our homes with Human Resource tools. His background in the Service Industry collaborates directly with his degree in Human Resources Management, he is our service specialist. Nick is currently working on his Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) Designation.
